Easy Read

We help families with children who have disabilities or differences.

We wanted to know what information families want.

The answers helped us make resources.

We did a survey in 2024.

Almost 400 parents answered questions on the internet.

Parents said they wanted information about their child’s disability or difference.

Parents said they wanted information that had facts and pictures.

They said their children did not have much information about their disability or difference.

They wanted pictures, symbols and social stories.

They said they wanted Easy Read.

And videos.

Half of the parents said their children have more than one diagnosis or disability.

Parents said it is good to have more information on health and strengths.

Every child is different.
That is okay.

Growing Different charity wants to say thank you to all the parents who answered questions to help.

If you are worried about your health, speak to a doctor or health visitor.
